Fundraising Goal

Every dollar raised at the Gala goes toward turning our pilot critical home repair program into a year-round resource for homeowners throughout Pierce & St. Croix Counties.

Why This Work Matters

At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that building a stronger community is, in part, about building new homes. And thanks to you, we've built 14 homes since Covid. But strong neighborhoods also include preserving the homes people already have.

We know a home should be a place of safety, stability, and dignity. But for many Wisconsin homeowners, the cost of critical repairs is simply beyond reach. A failing roof, unsafe stairs, deteriorating windows, or an inaccessible bathroom can turn a cherished home into a source of worry and risk.

Every repair protects more than a house. It protects the people, memories, and sense of belonging that make it a home.

Our 2027 Gala Focus

The Heart of Home Program

Keeping Wisconsin Families Safe in the Homes They Love

Our pilot critical home repair program launched in July, with special thanks to funding from the Andersen Corporate Foundation. The program makes repairs free to homeowners with an income of approximately $105,000 or less per year.

At our April 2nd Gala, our goal is to turn this pilot into a year-round program — helping homeowners throughout Pierce & St. Croix Counties with the repairs that keep their homes safe, accessible, and livable.

Wisconsin projections indicate the population age 65 and older is expected to grow 86% between 2020 and 2050. Older homeowners increasingly need accessibility improvements and help maintaining aging homes. Through The Heart of Home, we can make those repairs possible.
