About Us

Our Mission:
“A world where everyone has a decent place to live…”
St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity is a local, non-profit, Christian housing ministry in Pierce and St. Croix counties that is dedicated to helping our community to partner with people in need of affordable home ownership, by enabling them to acquire simple, decent homes and improving their lives by surrounding them with people who want to live and share God’s purposeful love and care.
History
St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity partners with families throughout Pierce and St. Croix counties to build decent, affordable housing that provides a stable home for generations. A small group founded SCVHFH 15 years ago, organizing in volunteers’ homes and building one or two homes a year using donations, volunteer labor and gifts in kind.
Realizing the value of this kind of community building, generous supporters have enabled Habitat to grow a strong arm in the St. Croix valley. The local affiliate has built 42 homes in the two counties it serves – now from an office on Elm Street in River Falls.
St. Croix Valley is a direct affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, which works across the nation and internationally as a Christian, ecumenical non-profit organization.
Habitat’s missions are many: Eliminate substandard housing and homelessness; make adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action; impart hope; strengthen communities; and live by the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent place to live in dignity and safety.
